Spring is hear and with it the sunshine and the lovely new jewelry (or your old favorites) to compliment the season. Whether you are making your own jewelry or picking out something lovely there are a few things that can make spring pop into your jewelry, mood, and other’s minds as they see you about (whether you want to wear them all year or not!).

 

Colors

Spring is a great time for color. All sorts of color. You can choose beautiful pastels such as pale colored gemstones or gemstone beads, all the way to the brightest purples, blues, and yellows. This is spring and it should look bright, happy, and sunny. Whatever colors you choose they should be bright and colorful. This isn’t the season to keep the entire wardrobe neutral. Even if you work in a professional field that requires you to wear neutral colors, choose wonderful colors to emphasize life, sun, and brightness along with the power of your suit (or wardrobe).

 

Materials

Bright is the key and with that can come gemstones in a wide range of colors as well as gemstone beads. Other great things are shells, mother of pearl, dyed wood beads, and things that suggest new life and bright sunshine.

 

Metals

All metals are good for all seasons, but spring seems to scream out yellow gold with its warm tones and rose gold with its soft touch of pink added to the bright shine. These seem to go particularly well with spring and summer.

 

Things to Avoid

While spring is a time to really let who you are shine through with your clothing and jewelry there are a few things you should avoid. Avoid too much silver or white gold. Some is fine especially mixed in with warmer colors or metals. However if you stick with the sterling and the white gold you will not look as warm and spring is the perfect time to reflect the warmth of the sun. It is also a bad time to stick with neutrals and a lot of black. Some is okay, but other colors really send the light out and scream new and fresh and young.

This is a time to show yourself through your jewelry. You can mix and match materials, and show your spirit in your jewelry.
